My Baby Brother Is Married!?!

Posted by Picasa

I can recall clearly the day when my older brother Matt, walked into my 6th grade classroom and said, "The baby is born. It's a boy!" I was shocked-what about the pink clothes my mother had bought, not to mention the fact she called "him" 'Becky' almost the whole pregnancy?!

And now, almost 23 years later, James is married!! What a fun couple of days we have had. A classy wedding dinner, a simple yet eternal ceremony, a beautiful reception and family and friends gathered together.

We are happy for James and Kristin and wish them a lifetime of happiness together.

Even though Ellie LOVES Kristin, she keeps saying with a sad voice, "I really wish James would still live at Nana's."

We Love You James & Kristin. Congratulations.

7 Random Facts About....ME!

1. Mike and I do not have "sides" in bed. In fact, every few nights if I think we have slept on one side too long, I make us switch so we don't "get sides."
2. When all my kids are eventually in school, I want to work at a grocery store as a BAGGER! I think I would do a very good job!
3. At a restaurant I like to save most of my salad to eat with my main course. Once at a restaurant with all of my family, I burst into tears when the waitress took my salad away without me seeing. Now everyone in my family/extended family is also protective of my salad to save THEM from the embarrassment when and if I cry.
4. I HATE the smell of playdough. It makes me sick to my stomach. It is a NO-NO at our house. I am horrible to admit, but I have ignored the pleading look on my children's faces as I have thrown it away after they have received it from a party favor/gift/trick or treating, etc.
5. When I was a little girl, I used to "play church" on the bottom stair. I have never "showed" or "told" Ellie about it. It must be hereditary though-she also plays church and does the EXACT SAME THINGS!
6. I am competitive when it comes to playing games. I LOVE games, but I do not enjoy them in large groups-at baby showers, ward activities, group parties, etc. I try to avoid playing as I can actually FEEL my blood pressure rising to unsafe levels.
7. I have never had a nosebleed before. As a child, I remember once laying in bed hitting my nose against the wall trying to induce a nose bleed! (It didn't work.)

"Moustache Kind"

Perhaps I give my children too much of a complex about getting red juice on their faces when they drink, because now before any drink that isn't water,
Ellie will ask, "Is this moustache kind?"
Yes, Ellie today it is.

**Laundry tip-BOILING hot water will get any red juice/red berry/red popsicle etc. stain out of clothing. Pour it directly on the fabric and watch the stain INSTANTLY disappear! You need that tip at our house when Crystal Light Fruit Punch is the favorite drink of choice!**

An Evening Out

Thank you to Mike's parents for giving us an evening at the Ringling Brother's Circus. And thank you to my parents for allowing us to enjoy it by letting Joshua stay with them!
Tiredly, the children reported their favorite parts as we walked to the car after the show.
Megan: "The elephants and the trapeze people."
Luke: "The dirt bikes riding in the cage and the tigers."
Ellie, having just awoken from a 30 minute nap, and probably confusing Luke's response, answered, "The elephants riding the dirt bikes." (Now THAT WOULD be a circus!)
